Aries. March 21 to April 19.

The Ram, Fire Sign, Cardinal Sign

New beginnings, adventurers, and courage. Part of the body ruled is the ‘head’.

Aries have a knack for taking charge. They have an eagerness to take charge, an enthusiasm that is both childlike and boundless. They don’t hold back and are usually in a hurry to get things done.

They have an unrivalled level of motivation and work efficiently to meet deadlines. This trait, however, can be interpreted negatively as a hasty desire to take matters into one’s own hands. Their passion, rather than their patience, is what sets them apart.

Aries can also be quite carefree. They tend to dive into projects without giving much thought to the logistics involved, which can make them appear naive at first glance, but they always seem to manage to pull off impressive results. They’re an encouraging sign with quick reflexes and lethal precision.

Taurus. April 20 to May 20

The Bull, Earth Sign, Fixed.

Represents: Possessive, calm, relaxed, materialistic, loves creature comforts. Part of the body is the ‘neck and throat’.

Unfortunately, the common misconception that Taureans are rigid and inflexible is generally correct. Those born under the sign of the Bull tend to be stubborn and set in their ways.

Since Venus, the planet of pleasure rules Taurus, it stands to reason that people born under this sign appreciate the good things in life. Aside from being exceptionally kind, they never fail to bring along some treats for you to share. The giving of presents is under Venus’s authority. They wish for everyone to feel the joy they do at giving and receiving.

For as long as they can, Taureans tend to stay in one place, where they can surround themselves with all the creature comforts they could want.

Gemini. May 21 to June 21

The Twins, Air Sign, Mutable

Represents: Communications, impulsive, changeable, inquiring, intelligent, exploring. Part of the body is the ‘lungs, arms, and hands’.

Constant communicators, Geminis enjoy engaging in lengthy conversations.

They have trouble making long-term commitments because they value variety above all else. In much the same way as the Goldilocks fairytale, Geminis prefer a middle ground to either extreme.

Most Geminis would rather dabble in a wide variety of subjects than delve deeply into any one of them. Their versatility and quickness between topics are their greatest assets. The ideal outcome for a Gemini is to become an expert in a wide variety of fields by taking advantage of their remarkable capacity for learning new information quickly.

Geminis are also very youthful; they shun anything that smacks of antiquity or traditionalism. They prefer to take an active role in shaping events and are not afraid to question established norms.

A good outlet for a Gemini’s social and energetic nature is to use it for the greater good of others.

Cancer. June 22 to July 22

The Crab, Water Sign, Cardinal

Represents: The home, shy, emotional, intuitive, protective, domestic. Part of the body is ‘stomach and breasts’.

Those born under the Cancer zodiac sign are adaptable, flexible, and happy when they are near the water (they are water signs, after all).

To thrive, they need to be a part of communities with a high volume of social interaction. To be in touch with their inner crab, they seek out secluded spots where they can retreat into their shell and be alone with themselves.

The emotional lives of Cancers are strongly guided by their intuition. For these indications, emotional responses, such as irritation or happiness, may be more influential than logic when deciding how to proceed. While it’s true that we’re all susceptible to the occasional outburst of sentimentality, those of us born under the sign of the Crab may be especially receptive to the feelings of those around us.

Leo. July 23 to August 22.

The Lion, Fire sign, Fixed

Represents: Ownership, pride, ego, power, children, passion, works well alone. Part of the body is the ‘heart and spine’.

The sun is the symbol of Leo, and the archetype is a lion basking in the warmth of the rays, a golden mane flowing in the breeze, and a bouquet of flowers at his feet.

Those born under the sign of Leo are destined for greatness and take great pleasure in the limelight. They thrive on praise and adoration. Leos have a reputation for exaggerating situations when they don’t feel they’re getting the love and appreciation they deserve.

As a fixed sign, Leos are not likely to change their minds or waver in their beliefs. They are the type of people ready to put in the time and effort to make things happen.

Lions are natural leaders who push the pace and take the reins whenever possible.

Virgo. August 23 to September 22

The Virgin, Earth sign, Mutable

Represents: Attention to detail, worrying, practical, analytical, discriminating, clean, a perfectionist. Part of the body is the ‘colon’.

Those born under Virgo are the perfectionists of the zodiac. Virgos are known to be overly picky at times. They tend to overanalyse situations, focusing on minute details that most people would overlook.

This idealistic standard of excellence extends to their interactions with others as well. A Virgo may even try to nitpick their friend or partner into submission so that they can reach their own standard of perfection.

Helpful to a fault, Virgos are always ready to pitch in and assist others. The Virgoan desire to be of service can lead them to neglect their own needs in favour of those of others.

Libra. September 23 to October 23

The Scale, Air Sign, Cardinal

Represents: Marriage and union, partnerships, diplomatic, compassionate, balanced. Part of the body is the ‘kidneys’.

Ruled by Venus, the planet of pleasure, beauty, and love, Libra placements tend to emphasise these qualities.

In addition to being well-mannered, loving, and often acting as a peacemaker, many Libras also have striking good looks. They carry themselves with an air of refined elegance.

In astrology, Libra is represented by the scales, which are also used to represent the balance of justice in a courtroom. They are excellent negotiators because they have such a strong desire for peace.

However, this preference for peace and quiet can backfire if it leads to complacency and avoiding conflict. They tend to choose their words carefully or not say anything as they don’t want to say something that will ruin the mood.

Scorpio. October 23 to November 21

The Scorpion, Water sign, Fixed

Represents: Intense, death, rebirth, responsibility, genuine, purification, the mafia of the zodiac. The part of the body that is the ‘sexual organs’.

There’s no mistaking a Scorpio for anything but intense.  Because Scorpio is influenced by not one but two powerful planets (Mars and Pluto), its energy is notoriously challenging to harness.

Many astrologers incorporate both ancient and modern concepts like Mars (representing authority) and Pluto (representing the unknown) into their readings. The planet Mars is linked to combative behaviour, while Pluto is associated with the transformational power of the death and rebirth cycle.

One reason why the energy is so challenging to navigate is the constant shifts that characterise Scorpio signs. Scorpio natives, whether they have the sign represented by the sun, the rising, or the moon, tend to have lives that are more emotionally charged than those of their peers.

When it’s at its peak, this sign has tremendous gravitas. Famous Scorpios who have learned to control their energy include Leonardo DiCaprio and Anna Wintour.

The Scorpion sign is also known for its magnetic personality—qualities such as charm, charisma, or that certain something. As the ruler of Scorpio, Pluto exerts a powerful magnetic pull that makes natives of that sign attractive, romantic partners.

Sagittarius. November 22 to December 21

The Archer, Fire sign, Mutable

Represents: Truth, religion, philosophy, generous, frank, enthusiastic, reason rather than emotion, adventurer. Part of the body is ‘lower back and thighs’.

When it comes to humour, Sagittarians are known to have one of the best in the zodiac. They have an insatiable appetite for knowledge and are constantly on the lookout for something new to investigate.

Sagittarius, the third and final fire sign, is like an uncontrollable wildfire, with no boundaries.

The planet Jupiter, symbolising growth and expansion, rules the sign of Sagittarius. In the eyes of a Sagittarius, the world is infinite. True possibility exists in all situations.

The time for exploration, in their view, is now, because the future is full of possibility and magic. Their curiosity fuels an insatiable drive for success.

Capricorn. December 22 to January 19

The Goat, Earth sign, Cardinal

Represents: Practical vision, unemotional, sober, orderly, control, manipulating, power, dependable, part of the body is the ‘knees’.

In the Zodiac, Capricorn is the final sign of the earth element. The Cardinal earth sign is most closely linked to the coming of age or initiation process. People born under the sign of the Capricorn are great at making their dreams come true and seeing the big picture.

In their daily lives, they constantly consider the big picture, viewing events from an elevated perspective. They are always pushing themselves to improve their abilities and reach their full potential to experience and accomplish everything they dream of in this life.

In terms of goals, Capricorns tend to set themselves high standards. They are ambitious people who work hard and always have an eye on the bigger picture of how they can achieve their goals.

Aquarius. January 20 to February 18

The Water Bearer, Air sign, Fixed

Represents: Detached, teamwork, friends, unconventional, humane, independent, warm. Part of the body is the ‘legs and hips’.

Aquarians are known for their brilliant minds and originality. Independent and defiant, they despise being told what to do.

Even though they are capable of social interaction, they are not likely to initiate or sustain conversation unless they feel like it. People born under the sign of Aquarius are constantly brimming with creative ideas. They have a reputation for being forward-thinking individuals who can spot connections where others can’t.

Many people have the impression that Aquarians are moody, erratic, and unusual leaders because of their originality and creativity.

Aquarians should pursue careers in social work, journalism, humanitarianism, and other fields that involve assisting others.

Since they are naturally gifted in finding novel solutions to problems, they make excellent emergency workers. They get a kick out of meeting new people and experiencing different cultures, making travel an ideal profession for them.

Pisces. February 19 to March 20

The Fishes, Water sign, Mutable

Represents: Intuitive, accepting, understanding, impressionable. Part of the body is the ‘feet and ankles’.

Individuals born under the sign of the Piscean are known to be generous, sympathetic, and imaginative thinkers. Their high level of emotional sensitivity keeps them in touch with the feelings of those around them. Still, it also makes them susceptible to criticism because they worry excessively about how others perceive their actions.

Pisces prefers not to be rushed into things, but they will give it their all when they are prepared. When a Piscean decides to do something, they will give it their all and keep at it until it’s done.

For Pisces, the ability to improvise and go with the flow is a source of great joy. As the twelfth sign of the Zodiac and as a water sign, they are known for their sensitivity to the emotions of those around them. Sometimes they put their wants on the back burner to ensure everyone else is content. The guidance they provide to others is often a breeze, thanks to their innate sense of intuition.
